Unfortunately, we've discovered at nearly the last minute that UserLand Frontier™ is incompatible with the Apple Event Manager version 1.0.1b4 (the "Apple® Event Manager" extension on this CD).
The symptom of the problem is that other applications that send Apple events to Frontier (using Frontier as a server) will not get replies. Frontier will not crash, and events sent by Frontier to other applications (and their replies) will get through fine.
Fortunately Ed Lai, the designer of the Apple Event Manager, has added a fix that will work around the incompatibility. Frontier works fine with this fixed Apple Event Manager; however, since we haven't had time to test the fix thoroughly, we don't recommend that you use the fixed version unless you are using Frontier. Future releases will include this fix.
If you install AppleScript and want to continue using Frontier, you should follow these steps after installing AppleScript:
1. Open your Extensions folder.
2. Drag the "Apple® Event Manager" extension file from your Extensions folder to the Trash.
3. Open the folder "Apple® Event Mgr for Frontier" of the "Unsupported Tools" folder of the "Development Tools" folder on the CD.
4. Drag the file "Apple® Event Manager" from that folder into your Extensions folder. (Dropping it on the System folder icon will suffice.)
5. Restart.
